Specialized Events

Having attended various events with our focus being on education, we have a few school aged volunteer docents that have earned high school credits towards graduation by attending and being involved in these events.   All of our docents are schooled to answer the public’s questions and give information regarding all aspects of the artifacts that we present in the Museum or at a special event. Sometimes being dressed in authentic period uniforms,  they have also been trained to give firing demonstrations, if requested, on each of the Artillery pieces with an accompanying narrative history lecture.

An invitation was received from Governor Grey Davis to attend the California Admissions Day Celebration 2000. (This event was located on the state capitol grounds in Sacramento.   Which included giving a firing salute as the grand finale over the Sacramento River). We displayed an entire encampment with supporting Artillery of the period.
